LippoLand through PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development Tbk (GMTD) continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability by integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance principles into its business strategy. This commitment is reflected not only in township development, but also through various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives under the Lippo untuk Indonesia PASTI framework, which promotes the values of Pintar, Asri, Sejahtera, Tangguh, and Independen.
In line with this commitment, and in commemoration of Earth Day, GMTD organized the Akkarena Beach Clean Up in Makassar on April 30, 2026. Carrying the theme “Clean My Beach, Care for My Environment,” the initiative aimed to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining coastal cleanliness as part of marine ecosystem preservation, while also supporting local tourism through a clean, healthy, and comfortable environment.
In its implementation, LippoLand through GMTD collaborated with the Sulawesi Maluku Environmental Control Center and the Tanjung Merdeka subdistrict. The activity involved approximately 100 participants, including GMTD employees and representatives from related institutions. Participants actively collected plastic waste along the Akkarena Beach shoreline, resulting in a total of 306 kilograms of waste collected, reflecting the company’s tangible commitment to reducing environmental pollution.

Head of Finance GMTD, Eldo T Sinurat, stated that this activity is part of the company’s ongoing efforts in fulfilling its social and environmental responsibilities.
“We believe that preserving the environment is a shared responsibility. Through the momentum of Earth Day, GMTD aims to encourage all stakeholders to be more mindful of the environment, particularly coastal areas,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Administration of the Sulawesi Maluku Environmental Control Center, Rina Triany Muchsin, expressed her appreciation for this collaborative initiative as a concrete step in strengthening synergy between the government and private sector in environmental protection and management.
Similarly, Head of Tanjung Merdeka Subdistrict, M Armansyah Fernanda, welcomed and supported the collaboration between the private sector, government, and community as a key factor in creating a cleaner environment, in line with the Makassar city government’s programs.

This activity also represents the implementation of the Asri pillar within the Lippo untuk Indonesia PASTI program, which focuses on improving environmental quality through cleanliness, strengthening local communities, and developing areas aligned with sustainability principles.
LippoLand through GMTD remains committed to delivering CSR programs that create tangible impact for both communities and the environment, contributing to a more sustainable future for Indonesia.
