LippoLand, through PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development Tbk (GMTD), the leading developer of the integrated Tanjung Bunga Makassar area, continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability by integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its business strategy.

This commitment is realized through various CSR initiatives under the group’s framework “Lippo Untuk Indonesia PASTI” (PASTI: Pintar, Asri, Sejahtera, Tangguh, Independen).

As part of this effort, GMTD held Tanjung Bunga Berkarya (Tabung Karya) Vol. 2, a creative empowerment program featuring macrame training for 50 women who work as cleaning staff in the Tanjung Bunga area.

Previously, GMTD successfully organized Tabung Karya Vol. 1, which offered beadcraft training for a similar group of women.

By the theme “Macrame Bikin Bangga” (Macrame Makes Us Proud), the second session took place at Madrid Hall Akkarena on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, and was led by Diayani Sukardi from TanganDia.

During the five-hour session, participants learned to create trendy handmade macrame accessories such as phone holders, tumbler holders, and plant pot holders, using colorful yarns and knots.

Jemmy Andreas Persang, COO of PT GMTD Tbk, expressed hope that programs like this can be expanded to other areas to open more creative business opportunities for female cleaning workers.

“Through this activity, we strive for sustainable impact. In line with our Independent pillar, we not only provide training but also open opportunities for new skills that can generate additional income and improve family welfare. This initiative reflects our strong support for women’s empowerment through creativity,” said Jemmy.

He added that Tabung Karya is not only about supporting sustainable business growth but also about creating long-term value for all stakeholders.
